Starting therapy can feel like a big step and it’s completely normal to feel nervous about what to expect. My role is to provide a supportive, safe and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about what you are currently struggling with. Sessions will be guided at your pace. If you have any questions or concerns whether therapy is right for you then please do get in touch or request a free 15 minute consultation before booking in your initial session.

At Belfairs Therapy Practice we are pleased to offer one to one therapy sessions either by phone, video or in person.
In your first session, we will discuss what you are currently struggling with that bought you to seek help and your goals for therapy. We will explore how your difficulties are impacting your day to day and quality of life at the moment and ways therapy may be able to help you in these areas. You won’t need to prepare anything in advance, although some people do find this helpful especially regarding what changes they would like to see or what areas they would like therapy to focus on.

Sessions will be tailored to your needs and will focus on discussing areas of concern and teaching coping skills to manage these. Depending on what you would like to focus on this may be looking at worry or negative thoughts you have been experiencing, relationship difficulties, making behavioural changes and increasing meaningful activities or discussing unpleasant memories that may be causing distress and helping you process these. We might set behavioural experiments or thought recording as tasks to practice between sessions.
Therapy is a collaborative process and we will work together to create a therapy plan that will introduce techniques to help you understand where your difficulties may have originated from, what is keeping you feeling stuck and how to help you move forward.
